
Kent Heyman
Chairman
Kent has a broad array of public and private company experience, including engagements as General Counsel, CEO, Board Chairman and board member, working with businesses in, software, IT outsourcing, technology, and telecommunications. To date, Heyman has worked on over $1 billion in financing, mergers and acquisitions, turnarounds and restructurings. In addition to his responsibility as chairman of Adapt Courseware, he serves as president of Syncables, a mobile communications software firm. He earned his BA from California State University-Fresno and his JD from University of the Pacific.

John Boersma, Ph.D.
Founder and CEO
John founded Adapt Courseware to realize the vision of online courseware that brings the best learning theory together with emerging web technologies and media techniques. As a seasoned academic and lifelong learner, he understands the science behind course development, delivery, and teaching, as well as the logical way that students learn. John was an assistant professor at the University of Rochester and an instructor at the State University of New York. He previously served as Vice President of Academic Content at Second Avenue Software and Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Mpower Communications. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester.

Mark Brodsky
Chief Operating Officer
Mark has more than 30 years of experience serving high growth technology companies. He has held senior and executive sales, marketing and operations management roles at educational technology and services companies, including Deltak, eCollege (a division of Pearson Education), Cdigix, and Aprisa Multimedia. He has worked closely with leaders of traditional and for-profit universities to implement effective online learning strategies that drive results. Mark graduated with a BS in Finance from San Diego State University.

Hank Bowman
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer
Hank’s career spans executive roles at some of the education industry’s largest technology companies, including Campus Management Corporation, WebCT/Blackboard and Destiny Solutions. Most recently, he served as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Perceptis. He has a tremendous amount of insight on institutional operations and has helped numerous schools successfully implement online learning, student data management and student support programs. He is a graduate of Elon University, and when not working to advance higher education, Hank performs with his bluegrass/Americana band, The Outliers.

Ken Ramirez
Chief Information Officer
Ken is responsible for software development, data management and information systems at Adapt Courseware. He works with the Executive team to provide technical leadership. Ken brings over twenty years of experience managing high-performing, agile IT teams and technology projects for companies such as S&P’s ComStock, Priceline.com, Merrill Lynch, and Eaton Vance. He also co-founded and developed a highly profitable quantitative analysis software platform.

Nicholas Livadas
Vice President, Digital Media
Nicholas has led the development of several hundred successful websites and online promotions. Before co-founding Adapt Courseware, he created the award-winning interactive department at StormFrog, where he and his team produced online applications for Norwegian Cruise Line, Jet Blue, PlayStation and Scion. He has also consulted with numerous companies on design, web standards and digital media, and previously worked for Element K. Nicholas earned his BS in Communication with an emphasis on video production from the State University of New York College at Fredonia.

Steve Wehner
Vice President, Curriculum Development
Steve has nearly two decades of experience designing, creating and producing digital media. He has won several awards for his work, consulted in the education space, and continues to teach design courses at the college level. He has extensive experience leading marketing and creative services departments, including an eight year run at Element K where he delivered high volumes of online learning content for Fortune 500 clients and managed the creation and implementation of design standards for more than 1,600 course titles accessed by over 8,000 students worldwide. He is an elected member and judge of the International Academy of Visual Arts and earned his B.S. in Studio Art at Nazareth College.

Paul M. LeFrois, Jr.
Controller
Paul has more than fifteen years of financial management experience in various senior level financial positions. Mr. LeFrois has served as controller for a startup nanotechnology company which he helped to take public. Paul earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from St. Bonaventure University.

Tori Woodcock
Implementation Manager
Tori’s passions involve teaching and technology, which she is able to foster as Implementation Manager. Her responsibilities include turning up new customers, project management, internal/customer training, developing documentation, and managing the support process. Prior to joining Adapt Courseware, Tori held several positions in help desk operations and software implementation with PAETEC, now a part of Windstream. Tori’s formal education background includes a BS in Elementary Education from SUNY Geneseo and a MS in Telecommunications Engineering Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has also been a volunteer Girl Scout leader since 2001.

Rebecca Ferraro
Product Manager
Prior to coming to Adapt Courseware Rebecca gained diverse experience as an instructional designer, an adjunct professor at Rochester Institute of Technology, an offering manager for two major offering launches at Xerox Corporation, and a sales and marketing manager for Second Avenue Software. In addition to her BS in Applied Communications, Rebecca holds an MS in Instructional Technology.

Sandy Pflugfelder
eLearning Technology Manager
Sandy has consulted for numerous major financial and technology firms, designing training solutions and promoting adoption of new technologies. She brings more than a decade of experience as a curriculum designer, eLearning developer, facilitator, project manager, software rollout specialist, technical writer, and product manager. Sandy holds a B.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a Business Administration minor from Penn State University.

Leo Naioti
Human Resources
Leo has led the Human Resources function in a number of high growth companies having provided talent management expertise to organizations in software, high technology, consulting services and the defense industry. He has been integral member of many executive teams as a trusted advisor providing executive coaching, critical staffing, and overall human resources strategy. Prior to starting his own people strategy business, Leo held executive roles at Questra, Xynetix and Harris Corporation. Leo is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
